THE PRESENTER IN SHORT

For his PhD at the microbiology lab of the Catholic University of Louvain (UCL), Dr. Vanzieleghem has done fundamental  as well as applied  research on the effects of microbial biofilm. In particular, he tested specific enzymes from phages (bacterial virus) to improve results of nosocomial infections linked to implantable medical devices caused by biofilms. Since 2015, Dr Vanzieleghem is responsible of research and development within OneLife, where he collaborates with hospitals in Belgium, France and abroad to develop solutions for prevention and control of infections.
